File Transfer Protocol (FTP)


Studio Backups

  1. After creative team meeting for each wedding setup google drive shared folder for lead and second photographer to drop photos.

  2. Copy template folder via local HD (use HD for wedding year) and name folder “wedding date_client name”.

  3. Copy template folder via Server (use folder for wedding year) and name “wedding date_client name”.

  4. Open Disk-O drive on desktop and locate client files via shared photographer folder. Copy/Paste files from Disk-O/google drive to local HD (backup 1) and server folder (backup 2) just created (step above).

  5. Open Lightroom. Click file and create “new catalog” via local HD>client folder>engagement>catalog. Label as client name_ENG. For weddings replace ENG with WED.

  6. Click import. Find files via local HD. Ensure all images are selected (unless duplicates) and match FTP worksheet.

  7. Click “ADD – keep files in location” at top menu bar.

  8. Build Previews set to “minimal”

  9. Check box “Build Smart Previews”

  10. Check box “Don’t import suspected duplicates”

  11. Apply during import; relevant metadata preset i.e. “Engagement – Bakerture” 

  12. Fill in keywords for SEO purposes – i.e. VA Photographer, VA Engagement Photographer, Virginia Engagement Photographer, etc.

  13. Click Import

Cloud Backups

Drive (Backup 3)

  1. Find catalog folder via local HD. Right click on catalog folder and click “compress”.

  2. Copy/paste compressed catalog to catalog folder in client shared drive folder.

Backblaze (Backup 4)

  1. Click fire icon in menu bar at top of screen. Click “backup now” to initiate backblaze backup.

Notifications

  1. Update Master Client File Backup 

  2. Message @Sam Pags via Slack to notify her of the new catalogs available for edit.

Export

  1. After editing complete, copy/paste edited catalog and files to pixieset, local HD. Copy/paste edited files to server.
