While maybe not the first Sugarloaf Mountain that comes to mind, this Maryland destination certainly holds its own as a gorgeous spot to snap some engagement photos. Known in the area for its breathtaking scenic views, it’s a wonderful option for the couple that wants to add just a little of the great outdoors to their shoot. Depending on the season, and the weather, this setting can be adapted for any style or mood you’re envisioning.

This fantastic venue is in hot demand, and for good reason! It’s set on 80 acres with views of the Potomac, and has a wide variety of spaces available, for whatever style and setting the bride and groom prefer. Capable of accommodating hundreds of family members and friends, everyone has space to spread out, among the lush greenery, water features and historic structures.

This setting is a fantastic spot for engagement photos, no matter the season, but this shoot was especially complemented by the perfect display of summer greenery (and summer love!). The ornamental gardens, lakes and fountains are all beautiful, but the Korean Bell Garden adds a special unique touch that can’t be found just anywhere.

There are few places as iconic, memorable and historic as the National Mall in Washington, D.C. For those looking for a timeless, elegant or just architecturally outstanding spot for their engagement photos, there’s little reason to look elsewhere. Though you’d think the popular attractions would be difficult for an engagement shoot, Shawn and Sarah’s photo session was a breeze, made all the more perfect by the lovely couple’s unique touches.

Equal parts rustic and elegant, the Glasgow Farm is a perfect setting for any country-chic event. The venue is still a working farm today, and the event space, the Family Home and the Old Barn, both built in 1900, reflect their historic origins. Full of charm, this fabulous wedding venue was a joy to photograph.

Alexandria’s Wilkes Street Tunnel is an important part of the city’s past, but it will be forever remembered in this couple’s minds as one of the stepping stones to their future. The fantastic spot they chose for their engagement shoot, the tunnel provided a little bit of vintage romance that, combined with their personal styles, resulted in great photos with a dose of casual, urban class.

High school sweethearts Tina and Chris will be getting married at the Inn at the Old Silk Mill in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and so they took their engagement shoot to their wedding venue. They didn’t stop there, though. A cute, vintage-style ice cream parlor also offered a sweet setting to snap a few photos of the couple having a little fun.

The combination of backdrops allowed for a great mixture of playful and romantic, as the ivy-covered brick contrasted nicely with the parlor’s small-town charm.

Lauren and Alan decided to take their engagement shoot right to the place where they first met — the baseball diamonds at Wakefield Park in Annandale, Va! The casual setting was the perfect place for the two to show off their fun-loving personalities, while also getting in some sweet shots during the golden glow of the twilight hour.

The beautiful setting of Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station, Va., was the perfect backdrop for Victor and Kaitlin’s engagement shoot! The lake, charming train station and tracks, and colorful carousel all worked together to provide a venue that was one part vintage chic, one part rustic and woodsy.
