In Virginia’s romantic wedding capital of Loudoun County, Leesburg sets itself apart with its charming historic district and downtown architecture, ranging from Georgian to Greek Revival. With lots of cute little shops and restaurants to choose from, this shoot ended up at Senor Ramon Taqueria, because what engagement session wouldn’t be a little better with a side of tacos and sangria?

There are plenty of historic and iconic engagement shoot locations in Washington, D.C., particularly around the National Mall. However, the Jefferson Memorial is something special, with its elegant architecture and waterfront views combined for one picturesque setting. The only thing to remember? Getting tourist-free photos requires an early morning!

As far as engagement shoot settings around D.C. go, Old Town Alexandria is one of our favorites. There’s so much history, the waterfront, beautiful cobblestone streets and just the right mix of green space and picturesque architectural touches. Plus, with a variety of backdrops to choose from, there’s a multitude of moods possible for your engagement photos.

A pastoral hideaway just outside Leesburg, Va., Stone Tower Winery boasts a rustically refined setting suited for a peaceful retreat. With 75 acres of vineyards, the beautiful Harvest Barn tasting room and lots of lush lawn space, it’s a lovely spot for either an engagement session or a wedding.

In order to prevent any photo loss due to technical error we take the following precautions at every wedding we shoot.

Every Photographer has their go to list of must-have gear.  The important thing to note is that they have professional level gear and back-ups. Professional gear can yield a much higher quality photograph, especially in typical low light reception spaces.  As well, in the unfortunate event that a Photographers lens or camera body breaks, that means moments to be photographed will be missed. Don’t worry about the specifics of the gear, just be sure to ask if your Photographer has backups.
